First Blog Post!!

Howdy all! Going to start trying to post a blog post once a week with updates from the farm, fun facts, mushroom lore, cooking recipes and my beginning journey into mushroom farming! So basically all things Foggy Dew Fungi and mushroom related!

This picture here is myself (Brendan) cooking up my first batch of grain spawn! I remember reading in one of Paul Stamets books that he looked like a homeless hippy in his youth, and in one of his slideshow speeches he presented a photo of himself in a kitchen next to a pressure cooker on a stove. Well here is my ode to Paul!! We all have to start somewhere!!!! Looking back on my early days of mushroom cultivation I recall being terrified of using the pressure cooker for the first time, I thought I was going to blow our house up!!! Knock on wood we have been smooth sailing ever since. With that said, what I take away from this picture and why I wanted to post it, you just have to roll up your sleeves and get started, never let fear hold you back from your goals and dreams. Keep getting inspired by your role models and hero’s , let that passion forge your path forward and never stop chasing your dreams!!
